This policy describes what limited information is processed by the Termark website and by the Termark desktop and mobile applications. Termark is designed to keep data on your device and to avoid collecting sensitive information unless you opt in.
By using Termark, you agree to the practices described below. App stores may ask you to review this page when you install or update the application.
1. Data That Stays on Your Device
Your SSH hosts, connection profiles, private keys, passwords, saved commands, and other connection settings are stored locally on your device in Termark's local storage. These are not uploaded to us by default.
Sensitive connection data is kept local unless you explicitly enable one of the sync features described below. We do not intentionally collect, read, or store the contents of the SSH sessions you run inside Termark.
2. Telemetry
Termark collects basic, anonymous usage telemetry to help us improve compatibility and reliability. The application generates an anonymous device identifier and reports limited technical data such as application version, operating system, device architecture, feature usage events, and simple retention metrics (for example, whether the app is used again within 7 or 30 days).
Telemetry is enabled by default, but you can turn it off at any time in the application settings. When telemetry is disabled, no telemetry events are sent. Telemetry does not include your email address, SSH credentials, host contents, or any data that identifies you.
3. Cloud Sync
Termark offers an optional cloud sync feature to keep your hosts and settings in sync across devices. Before any data is uploaded, it is encrypted on your device using a sync passphrase that only you control. The encrypted bundle (envelope) is what gets stored, so the sync provider does not receive readable copies of your hosts or credentials.
Cloud sync can use our official sync service, or a provider you choose yourself, including WebDAV, Amazon S3, iCloud, GitHub, a Git repository, FTP, or SFTP. When you use a third-party provider, that provider processes the encrypted bundle according to its own terms. When you use the official sync service, an account is required to authenticate device access.
Cloud sync is entirely optional and is off by default.
4. Licensing and Purchases
To validate that your installation is properly licensed, the application contacts the Termark licensing service and verifies a license identifier. This does not include your SSH credentials or host data.
Purchases, subscriptions, and one-time payments are handled by the relevant app store (for example, the Apple App Store or Google Play) and its payment processor. We may receive a confirmation that a purchase was made but not your full payment details. Processing of payments and applicable tax information is governed by the app store's privacy policy.
5. Website Data
When you visit our website, your browser may request static files, fonts, and release metadata. Standard server logs may include IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp, and referrer for security, debugging, and traffic analysis.
When you download a build from our site, the hosting provider may process download-related logs necessary to deliver the file and to protect the service from abuse.
6. Third-Party Services
The website and app may rely on third-party infrastructure, including content delivery networks, hosting providers, app stores, and the optional sync providers you choose. We also use static analytics to measure website traffic. These providers may process minimal technical request data to deliver content securely; each provider's own privacy policy governs their processing.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your data for advertising or profiling.
7. Children's Privacy
Termark is not directed to children under 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. International Data Transfers
Depending on where you are located, your device may transmit minimal telemetry and license-validation data to servers operated by us or by third-party providers located in other countries or regions. By using Termark, you consent to this transfer where required by law.
9. Your Choices and Rights
- Telemetry: You can disable telemetry in the application settings at any time.
- Cloud sync: You can disable or remove cloud sync at any time; your local data remains on your device.
- Access, correction, and deletion: Where applicable under your local law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we process about you.

10. Security
Your SSH credentials and connection data are stored locally on your device. When cloud sync is used, data is encrypted on your device with your sync passphrase before upload. We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited data we process.
11. Policy Updates
This policy may be updated as the product and infrastructure evolve. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date on this page. Continued use of Termark after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
